Comprehensive Family Mediation Services

Our experienced family mediators can assist you to work out all aspects of your separation including parenting plans (custody and access), child support, spousal support and division of property. We can also help you make changes to existing arrangements or to address issues that have arisen.

Court Connected Mediation Services

The Mediation Centre is under contract with the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario to provide court connected services for Milton. The Milton Court serves the Halton communities of Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Georgetown.

Custody & Access Assessment

Custody and access assessments may be required to assist a family in developing plans for their children that best meet their children’s needs. Custody and access assessments can be ordered by the court or they can be completed on the consent of the parties.

Child Protection Mediation

The Mediation Centre can help families develop plans for their children which address the concerns raised by a Children’s Aid Society. Child Protection Mediation is one of the prescribed methods of Alternative Dispute Resolution under Bill 210, which amended the Child Welfare Legislation in Ontario in 2006.

Parenting Coordination

A Parenting Coordinator assists high conflict parents to implement and follow through with their parenting plan with a goal to reduce parental conflict. The Parenting Coordinator (PC) works with the parents to facilitate resolution to parenting disputes as they arise. Where no agreement is reached, the Parenting Coordinator may either make a recommendation as to how the dispute should be resolved or make an arbitration decision as is contracted at the outset with the family.

Counselling

Separation, divorce and remarrage can be challenging times for parents, children and everchanging family units. The Mediation Centre offers individual, couple, and family couselling to assist people in making these transitions.

Workplace Mediation

Workplace mediation can assist employers and workers in addressing conflict in the workplace, in a non-adversarial manner, often allowing for things to be resolved prior to escalating further. Workplace mediation provides an opportunity for those involved to address the issues, explore options and reach a workable outcome through a mutually agreeable course of action.

Intergenerational mediation

As our population ages, families are facing many challenges with respect to intergenerational mediation. Often this raises conflict within families concerning care of loved ones. With special training in providing elder care mediation, our elder care mediators can assist families in working together to develop mutually acceptable plans.
